Alright, enough deep complicated rants for a while. How 'bout things to check out (or remind you to reexperience).
First, college baseball is at it's pinnacle. After a great weekend at a regional tourny, Texas travels to Ole Miss for their best of 3, super regional. These kids play some incredible baseball. Add a few relics and 100 of years of history, stories, and heros...and the possibilty to see the next big thing. I'm sold, but I am a baseball nut.
Second, Mitch Hedberg. This guy was funny. Like any great comedian, he has 'young death' on his resume. Listen to him cover to cover on a CD, let him set the atmosphere, and pay attention.
Third, The Black Keys blues duo. They lack polish and depth, but considering they're a duo they do put out a decent amount of sound. Like any good blues they sound like other people by sounding like themselves. Highly Recommend their video directed by David Cross. They'll be in Austin Sept. 23 which brings me to number 4.
Fourth: ACL Festival! Get your tickets now fuckers. Later in the summer, prolly when the schedules are released I'll be posting my recomendations about the shows to catch.
Now if anyone is hiring, that'd be fantastic, otherwise, I'm gonna be pitching Brandon Backe to a perfect season.
