The blurring lines of Freedom

As I discussed in an earlier post, the current war on terror has served to create a tension b/w protecting freedom and enjoying freedom. This article in the New York Times is a perfect example of that exact tension. While I'm certain there are very few people in the United States who agree with Sami Al-Arian's vitrol and hatred; he is certainly free to say whatever he'd like. The bigger point at issue is how laws since 9/11 have reduced our freedom in the name of "freedom", and to what extent the government can encroach our freedom. This is certainly a case that will be followed closely.
